  • David, I pray you rest in peace and I pray that your friends and families are comforted in their loses. It is difficult to highlight all the influences you have had in your life. You have publicly had your trials and tribulations and have shown that there is a path to overcoming them, if you believe you can AND if you have people around you who love you. I believe that you are in God’s Presence and surrounded by His Love and Forgiveness.

When someone passes on, it is IMPOSSIBLE to understand the grief their loved-ones endure. Grief is one of the most powerful emotions, only to be be balanced by the belief that LOVE is the cure to sorrow and sadness and the LOVE can help us to focus on the good things people have done. One telling example is that, at one time, David reached out and took Grace Slick to rehab and she attributes his actions as being what helped to, “save her life”. That says a lot about what David could and would do.

So, rest in peace, sir. Rest in peace and hope.

I recently penned song after I lost some loved ones and I will share it with you:

It is a song of hope…..

  • David was always approachable to me as a fan. The man was direct and sometimes that is misunderstood as mean. His voice was pure and clean until it went silent. RIP David!

  • Farewell to Croz. Original, difficult, sometimes hugely talented & the most influencial person of the Canyon scene. He will, of course, be sorely missed & his likes will never be seen again.

  • I was a fan of David’s for a long time, then ran into him on various occasions as I quietly drifted in and out of the Laurel Canyon scene.

Oddly enough, we shared the same producer/engineer when he went solo. My producer claimed, in a couple of his books, that I was the “guinea pig” who helped him create the acoustic guitar sound he used when recording CSNY and Crosby. Anytime I quietly released a new album, David always posted nice comments about my old and new records.

He was an energetic chap, but a fiercely giving human. Grace Slick acknowledges the moment that David saved her life, when he forced her to go into rehab, when Grace was spiraling downward in the last 90’s. That is a sign of a great human being.

Also, Laurel Canyon radio has been a big supporter of sharing my music with it’s audience, which I highly appreciate. It is my go-to web radio site. Thanks to David and all the fine people there.

Anyway, God Bless David, I am sure he is in heaven surrounded by God’s Love and Light.
